The Model M is the Steinway grand built for the room you actually live in, and this one has been fully restored: restrung, rebuilt, regulated, and refinished in satin ebony, with its original ivory keytops preserved. A Steinway grand in every sense, scaled to a home.
The satin ebony case, the gilded plate, the gold Steinway & Sons decal, and the original ivory keytops. Photographed as it sits today.

Steinway introduced the Model M in 1911 and has never stopped building it. At five feet seven inches it answered a specific problem: how to put a real Steinway grand, with the rim, the soundboard and the action that name implies, into a room where a concert grand would never fit. More than a century later, the M is still the Steinway that most people actually live with.
This one is a mid-century example, finished in satin ebony and fully restored. The case was taken back and refinished, the plate regilded, and the original ivory keytops cleaned and preserved rather than replaced. Ivory has a grip under the finger that plastic has never managed to copy, and it is the first thing a pianist notices.
It is a full Steinway grand, scaled to a room you already have.
A Steinway of this age is worth what its rebuild is worth. This one was taken down to its components and restored by experienced professionals, for stable tuning, an even touch, and another lifetime of playing.
The exact build year will be confirmed from the serial plate. Ask us for it when you inquire, and we will send it with the full restoration record.
Have this Steinway play itself. A QRS player system streams thousands of songs and reproduces live performances through your phone, fitted discreetly under the keybed so the instrument still looks, and plays by hand, like an unmodified Steinway grand.
This is one specific restored Steinway M, not a model we can reorder. Once it is reserved, it is off the market. Come play it at our DFW showroom, and we will hold it while you decide.
